This consultancy was to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health’s Division of Health Information Systems (HIS) on primarily two core softwares namely the District Health Information Systems (DivHIS2) and Master Facility List (MFL) software. These two softwares are open source and were initially being fully supported by the University of Oslo, but to cement their local sustainability, our client, ABT Associates, recognized and decided that a local University would be best placed to provide similar technical support. UoN SCI is providing this support.
The consultancy includes: Building skills and competencies within the University; DHIS project management technical support to the DivHIS; DHIS2 Training to users and other stakeholders through training, bootcamps and hackathons; Support to DHIS2 software management; Document the Kenyan DHIS2 instance; Partnership; Research (around the use and adoption of Health Informatics)
The consultancy was conducted through UNES with our main client being ABT Associates, who have been contracted by USAID.
