The student ambassador program is a program developed by Intel® Incorporation to train young developers on emerging technologies. This developer program is designed to assist student experts in telling their story and sharing their expertise with other student data scientists and developers.

The program is currently running in numerous universities all over the world. However, in Africa, the program is in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. In the past 3 years, the scope of the Intel student ambassador program aimed and trained students on Internet of things, mobile application development and cloud computing. Intel facilitated events by providing funding and both software and hardware resources for training. Intel provided the Intel® XDK for building cross platform applications which integrated several frameworks and libraries in the XDK to reduce the burden on the student developer. It also provided hardware for the internet of things (IoT) by means of the Intel® Galileo Gen1 board, Intel® Galileo Gen 2 board, Intel® Edison board and the Seeed Studio IoT sensor kit.
