62 students from FST Awarded for exemplary Performance at the Students Recognition Awards

62 students from the faculty were among the 800 recepients honored during the Students’ Recognition Awards Ceremony held on May 5, 2023 in Taifa Hall.  Kamau Ummi Gitau received the award for the best student in academic performance in the Faculty. The award ceremony is conducted to honor the students for exemplary performance in various categories; students’ talents, innovation and entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility, leadership, volunteerism, sports and games, and other extra-curricular activities.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof.  Kiama congratulated the awardees for a stellar performance. He also    for the very first time, we are going to reward students’ effort in other areas beyond academic performance. This is a deliberate move aimed at fulfilling our objective of producing holistic graduates.  It is also an acknowledgement, on our part, that other activities outside the academic realm are also vital for building an all-round student and citizen of this country and the world

In his speech, the Vice Chancellor also acknowledged  Kenyan sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala for his track record in athletics On the track, Ferdinand Omanyala from the Faculty of Science and Technology continues to smash records in the 100 metres sprint’’.  The students we encouraged to to continue striving towards personal growth and academic excellence and to stay motivated, work harder and smarter in the future.
