 Prize Presentation Ceremony

A total of 275 students were awarded various prizes from donors during the 3rd Prize Presentation Ceremony held on Friday, May 6, 2022

a total of 474 awards that ranged from gold medals, cash prizes and trophies from over 100 donors and partners were awarded to the students from 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 academic years.

The Government of India and three East African countries awarded the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Fund, which is funded, the best performing students from all faculties. The University of Nairobi provides the scholarships. The aim of the scholarship is to assist the students of Kenya who are interested in pursuing post-graduation degree or Master’s degree from the university.

Speaking during the ceremony the Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiama appreciated the donors for rewarding academic excellence and supporting the initiative.

Also present during the award ceremony were representatives from the donor companies, University management, staff, and students. Mrs. Anastacia Olembo spoke on behalf of the donors; “I congratulate all the students who performed very well, they have made us very proud. Congrats to the award-winning students, they will encourage the current students to perform exceptionally. We need to work with the university to grow the donor community and also the package that we are giving the students.”
