Collaborations with Thomas More University of Applied Sciences

In 2021, The University of Nairobi and Thomas More University of Applied Sciences signed a collaborative agreement MOU that has seen more than 40 University of Nairobi students taking part in Virtual exchange in form of Collaborative Online International Learning with Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Antwerp, Belgium. Faculty members from both universities have also had the opportunity to visit and benchmark.

Earlier in the year, February 2023 a team led by Dr. Inge Vervoot who is the director of International Office of Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Antwerp, Belgium paid a courtesy call to the dean FST Prof. Kerubo. The discussions focused on the various collaborative opportunities between the two universities

In May, the team from Thomas More Dr. Hilde Vandenhoudt, Dr.  Dorien Keil and Mrs.  Kristine Strackx  also  held a lecture on collaborative Opportunities for Staff and Students and strengthening  partnerships between The University of Nairobi (Kenya) and Thomas More University.  these opportunities included: The available scholarship/internship opportunities at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences for undergraduate and postgraduate students of the University of Nairobi; The available masters and PhD scholarship opportunities at Thomas More University for University of Nairobi students/ Developing countries; The various Collaborative International Learning programs (COIL) courses and opportunities for University of Nairobi Students and physical exchanges to Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Belgium; and the Erasmus exchange programs opportunities for the University of Nairobi students both undergraduates and postgraduates to Thomas More University of applied Sciences and Technology.

The Dean Prof. Leonidah Kerubo and Dr Ezekiel Mecha senior lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry, and Prof.  Ivica Lacković of the University Of Slavonski Brod Croatia also took part in Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Antwerp Belgium's 18th International days, which took place in March 2023 in Antwerp, Belgium. They had a chance to meet and discuss with the chairpersons of the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Geel campus   on the various collaborative opportunities between the two departments.  They had a chance to visit Chemistry and Biochemistry laboratories at Geel Campus to explore the various projects the University of Nairobi and Thomas More University of Applied Sciences can do jointly.  

All these collaborative opportunities have helped to strengthen partnerships between the two universities.
