The College of Biological and Physical Sciences (CBPS) has dedicated an entire month to celebrate the 50th anniversary of University of Nairobi.
The college will celebrate the official launch of UoN@5o celebrations on Thursday May 27th from 10am-12pm. the College uon@50 celebration activities will run off until june 30th 2021 with a number of webinars lined
Call for applications
As part of celebrating UON@50, the College of Biological and Physical Sciences (CBPS) plans to recognize and showcase cutting edge research and innovation by its students, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The University has partnered with Kenya Forest Service and Equity Group to plant over 5000 seedlings across all campuses. The college planted 400 seedlings with the help from staff and students
The 2nd prize presentation ceremony was held on Friday May 7th 2021. The ceremony recognized 448 former best overall students for the Academic year 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 cohort.
The college is set to hold a webinar on Managing the hidden poison; how safe is our food.

Professor Richard Kiprono Mibey is a Kenyan academic, research scientist and university administrator. Mibey served as the Vice-Chancellor of Moi University, the second university to be established in Kenya between 2006 and 2016.
Establishment of a mycotoxins laboratory
The University celebrated the first inaugural talents day on Friday 12th March. The theme of the Day was “University of Nairobi the home of Talents.” Students and staff showcased different talents from the different categories; music, singing and poetry, ICT and engineering innovation, arts design and fashion show, karate, taekwondo and dance, modeling, catwalk, Mr and Miss Talent day and other categories like bible citation, narrative/spoken word, instrumentals and news presenters.
